I was a kid who played in the dirt before I ever called it art. In undergrad, I found my way to the pottery studio and it became a place to reset. Years later, after finding a career in design and painting, arthritis in my thumbs made painting harder on my hands. Coming back to clay wasn't a fallback. It was coming home.

I work primarily on the wheel, making forms rooted in function and use. Wheel-thrown, with carved details and hand-built additions worked in where they fit. I glaze with a mix of single and layered applications, and I like commercial glazes for how unpredictable their interactions can be — color combinations that often echo abstract landscapes.

I make both functional pieces, like mugs and bowls meant for daily use, and decorative pieces, like vases. In either case, the goal is the same: bring some form, function, and a bit of art into the everyday. Whatever the form, it starts and ends with my hands in clay — which is exactly why I keep coming back.
