A wheel-thrown, constructed teapot with a deeply carved surface, the whole body textured in a flowing, grass-like pattern that catches the frosty blue glaze beautifully, pooling lighter in the high spots and darker in the grooves. The lid sits into a raised collar with a sculpted knob to match the carved texture, and the loop handle and long spout give it a nice, substantial presence on the table.
This piece leans decorative but is fully functional as a teapot if you want to put it to use.
