Carved Vase in Chocolate Stoneware

A dramatic, wide-shouldered vase thrown with a low, squat body and a narrow neck, carved all over in deep, sweeping diagonal grooves that spiral out from the opening. The glaze pools heavily in the carved lines and breaks over the ridges, giving a rich variegated look : a soft peachy pink and cream where it settles into the grooves, deepening to a warm brown where it breaks over the ridges. That same glaze break carries down into the decorative carving on the foot.

This piece is thrown in chocolate stoneware - the true star of the piece. 

Measures 7 x 7 inches. Weighs 3.75 lbs.
