A wide, low-bellied vase in brown stoneware, glazed in a deep plum with soft, cloud-like blue-gray surfacing where the glaze reacts with the iron in the clay body. The interaction shifts the color from wine and rose tones into unpredictable smoky blues and grays — no two areas react quite the same way, so the pattern is completely one-of-a-kind to this piece. The interior is glazed in a soft turquoise, visible as a quiet surprise when you look inside.
Wheel-thrown with a gently flared neck and a trimmed foot ring. The plum-to-blue transition varies in width and placement around the piece, so it reads differently from every angle.
